ALL ABOUT MY RED HAIR

Friday, October 23, 2015

Good morning dolls! Today I will be talking all about my hair and how I maintain the red color.
I have had multiple questions on the color and how I got it this shade, well today I will share with you all my tips!

What Color is Your Hair?
My hair is Garnet Read (Burgundy). It's more of a plum red. It's not too bright and not too dark.

How Do You Get Your Hair To Look So Thick?
I use hair extensions to get my hair to look long and thick. My favorite and holly grail extensions are by Bellami. I use the Lilly Hair 260g hair extensions. Since my shade isn't available yet I get the "Ash Brown" extensions, and then I dye them myself with the same product I use to dye my own hair. I have dyed these extensions 3 times already and they still look gorgeous and healthy!
If you are looking into trying out these extensions you can use code "NATALIA" and get a little $ off.

How Often Do You Color Your Hair?
My hair gets a refresher every 1.5-2 months. Yes! The product I use is so amazing that it lasts a long time. My hair still looks nice and red even before I have to re-dye it. I haven't had any issues with the hair dye fading to orange if I dye it within this time frame.

What Hair Dye Do You Use?

Ok guys are you ready for it?!!...I use the Garnier Olia Hair Dye in Medium Garnet Red 5.60!<3
This is my absolute favorite hair dye! Yes, it's from the drug store and it's ALL I use as hair dye. I have never had better results! The price is about $8-$10 a box, and I use 3 boxes for my hair, and leave it in for about 40 minutes.

This product contains no ammonia. It contains oils which work with your hair to leave it nice and shiny. Oh! And It doesn't have any strong smells either! It actually has a really nice fruity scent. This product is just perfection in every angle!

(I can honestly say that my hair is perfectly healthy. It's actually healthier then it was before I started dyeing it.)

What Shampoo and Conditioner do you use?
I use the Riveting Reds by Quantum from Sally's. This Shampoo and Conditioner have color in them so they look completely red! I like using these when I wash my hair because they deposit color into the hair helping it maintain it's gorgeous shade.

Once a week I will use a hair mask to mantain my hair healthy.
-Macadamia Hair Mask

How Often Do You Wash Your Hair?

I wash my hair (not shower lol) 2 times a week. This has helped my hair stay healthy and the color last longer. I use a dry shampoo in between washes to always maintain my hair looking fresh. My favorite is the Batiste (either Brunnette or Regular). Just blend it in really good to the roots of the hair so it doesn't look too opaque.

I hope this is helpful for those of you trying to get this shade! If you decide to go this color be sure to tag me in your pictures #littlemissnati. I would love to see your results!

"Milk" Jumbo eye pnecil on the bottom waterline to enlarge the eyes.

"Blackest Black" gel eyeliner by Loreal to line the outer perimiter of the eyes. I couldn't stay away from creating at least a small wing! But I still tried to keep the rest of the eye as round as I could (but with a touch of "wing").

"Grand Glamour" lashes by Vegas Nay. You can find these at Target!

"Naturalites" bottom lashes by Eyelure.

LIPS:
"Fuschia" lip liner by NYX.

*Use the same product you used as foundation on the sides of the lips, then use the lipliner to shape your new tiny lips! Fill in with a hot pink matte liquid lipstick.

HALLOWEEN MAKEUP: BLACK AND ORANGE

Tuesday, October 13, 2015

I really wanted to pull together a Halloween inspired makeup tutorial. This is not something I would wear on a daily basis but why not wear it for Halloween? It's definitely a fun option! The black and orange colors give it the perfect Halloween feel:)

So wear this makeup look...IF YOU DARE!;p lol

Here's what you'll need to get this look:

EYES
-"Painterly" paintpot by MAC Cosmetics to prime the lids. A primer will help the eyeshadows adhere to the lid better, prevent creasing, and allow for a long lasting effect.

-"Spice" and "Fiesta" matte eyeshadow by Morphe as a transition shade. This will add a pop of color to the look. Be sure to apply this transition shade just a bit higher than the crease to blend with the shadows on the crease and the brow bone.

-"Noir" matte eyeshadow by Anastasia Beverly Hills over the lid area and to create an extended wing using eyeshadow.

-"Friskie" shimmer eyeshadow by ColourPop to create a shimmery look on the lid and prepare for glitter application. Apply this shade over the "Noir" shade.

-"Cream Puff" matte eyeshadow by Morphe on the brow bone area

-"Black" glitter by Wolfe Brothers to add over the lids

-"Blackest Black" gel eyeliner by Loreal to create the wing and line the waterline on the top and bottom areas of the eye

-"Noir Fairy" lashes by House of Lashes for a dramatic look

FACE
-"Chocolate Soleil" matte bronzer to contour my forehead, hollows of the cheeks, chin, and sides of the nose.

-"So Hollywood" illuminator over the cheeks, cupids bow,  and bridge of the nose for a highlight.

*I skipped blush on this look since the eyes are so dramatic

LIPS
-"Most Natural" Millani retractable lipliner, I love these retractable lipliners because you don't need to sharpen them!

-"Nude Delight" lipstick by Rimmel. This nude shade goes perfect with the eye makeup as it is a more peachy-nude.

CURRENT MAKEUP OBSESSION!

Friday, October 9, 2015

As you can tell....I really like concealer! But not just any concealer, oh no... It has to be THIS concealer!

I have genetic dark circles. The darkness around my eyes has been around since I was tiny, and I've never been able to get rid of it. Makeup has been the best solution to make them disappear.

The MAC Prolongwear concealer has quickly become my all time favorite concealer to hide my dark circles. I have been using this concealer for the past 2 years and I adore it! I don't think I will find anything better to replace it.

The consistency is a liquid and it comes out in a pump, which makes it very sanitary to use. My favorite shade is an NW (I use NW30). An NW shade will have a warmer/peachy tone that will help counteract the purple/blue shades under the eyes. The formula has a long lasting power that will stay put under the eyes all day, even if the area gets wet. I haven't had any problems with this concealer creasing. It's just simply the best when it comes to concealing! (Keep in mind that I use a separate concealer for highlighting, this is what I use to conceal).

Quick Tip: MAC Cosmetics has a recycling program? Say waaaa? It's so nice! If you bring in 6 empty MAC containers you can trade them in for a lipstick!:D Can you tell where I'm headed after I finish the 6th bottle?

I hope this review is helpful for you dollies. If you give this concealer a try, let me know how you like it!

*This is not a sponsored post. All of these concealers were purchased with my own money. This is 100% my opinion about this product according to the results I have seen through its use.

HALLOWEEN MAKEUP: HALF SKULL

Tuesday, October 6, 2015

Halloween is almost here! I'm beyond excited to start preparing Halloween looks for you! There are so many fun makeup ideas out there: scary, girly, you name it. Here is my first Halloween makeup for the year:

MATERIALS YOU WILL NEED:

EYES
-"Painterly" Paintpot by MAC to prep the eyes
-"Bengal" by Anastasia Beverly Hills as a transition shade
-"Brown Sugar" by Makeup Geek to deepen the outer crease
-"Sangria" by Anastasia Beverly Hills on the lid.
-"Drift" eyeshadow by ColourPop to intensify the red color. Use MAC Fix+ or eyedrops to wet the brush. This will help intensify the color!
-"Kitten" eyeshadow for the middle of the lid to add dimension, and on the inner corner to add a highlight
-"Black" matte-liquid liner by NYX
-"Iconic" lashes by House of Lashes
-"Black" Rimmel Lash Accelerator mascara to blend the falsies with the real lashes. Apply the same mascara on bottom lashes.

NOSE
-Loreal Infallible "Black" gel liner to paint the nose. You can use the same brush that it comes with to outline the nose and then fill it in with the same product.

MOUTH
-Loreal Infallible "Black" gel liner to shape the mouth and teeth
-Ben Nye "Clown White" paint to fill in the teeth

STEPS - STEPS - STEPS

NOSE
-(Red) Outline the nose with the black gel liner, then fill it in with the same product.

MOUTH

-(Green) Start off by using the black gel liner and draw the horizontal line for the mouth.
-(Red) Next, draw the shape of the teeth as seen in the image using the same black liner.

-(Red) Fill in the teeth with the white paint. You only need a TINY bit of paint. You can add more paint as you go. Using a small amount will help to blend the white with the black for a more realistic look.
